Prof Dr Steffen Sebastian holds the Chair of Real Estate Finance at the IREBS Institute for Real Estate Management at the University of Regensburg. One focus of the Chair of Real Estate Finance in research and teaching is the characteristics of real estate as an asset class. In addition to direct investments, this includes in particular indirect investments via open-ended property funds or real estate stock corporations or REITs. Another focus is on the financing of real estate investments and their securitisation.

Sandy Bierwirth-Zeussel joins the Investment Expo Advisory Board as a representative of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS). She is a member of the RICS Germany Board and Deputy Head of the RICS Professional Group Asset Management Germany. She works for RMC Risk Management Consulting GmbH advising institutional investors and heads the property consulting division. She has a wealth of experience in the areas of investment and portfolio management, structuring and implementation of investment and disinvestment projects with a focus on property and equity investments. Her previous professional experience includes investment management functions at financial institutions such as SOKA-BAU Zusatzversorgungskasse des Baugewerbes, Helaba Invest, Landesbank Baden-Württemberg and in the Specialised Finance and Joint Ventures division of Lloyds Banking Group. She began her professional career at Deutsche Bank. She graduated in Banking & Finance from the Frankfurt School of Finance & Management and obtained her MBA with Distinction from Ashridge/Hult Business School in the UK. She completed her studies in property economics at the IREBS Real Estate Academy.

Dirk Bratschke (architect / CIS HypZert (F)) has been responsible for property investments in the Vibro Group's Family Office since 2022. He is responsible for building up and developing the family's direct and indirect property assets. Previously, he was a member of the board of the family foundation in the Cofra Düsseldorf family office for over 12 years and an authorised signatory of Prudentia Pensionskasse AG (Cofra Group). Before joining the Cofra Group, he managed the real estate division of a real estate trading company in Düsseldorf as an authorised signatory and was responsible for the Berlin and Hamburg offices of a nationwide valuation company.

Anna-Lena Budde has been Deputy Managing Director of the Finance and Accounting department at NKVK since January 2020. Prior to this, she held the position of the management department with a focus on investments and actuarial mathematics. The business administration graduate and qualified bank clerk began her career at Deutsche Bank in Hanover, where she worked in the private customer division. She was then part of the founding team of a private asset manager in Hanover. After the birth of her first daughter, Budde moved to NKVK. Her area of responsibility now includes not only the risk assessment of investments in connection with liability positions, but also all issues relating to strategic asset allocation and the implementation of sustainability strategies and their monitoring. In the area of controlling, she supports and monitors in-house projects as well as cost generation and development.

Christiane Eckert holds a degree in business administration and is a member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (MRICS) and the Urban Land Institute (ULI). She is also a recurring speaker for INREV. She started her career in the property industry over 20 years ago, the first 7 years of which she spent at WestFonds (WestLB Private Banking) as a fund manager for closed-end mutual funds. After a stint at Henderson Global Investors (now TIAA Nuveen), where she was responsible for institutional European funds as a portfolio manager, she moved to Denmark over 10 years ago. Initially at Valad Property Group (now Cromwell), where she was responsible for investments in the Nordics. In 2013, Ms Eckert started at PFA Pension, Denmark's largest commercial pension fund, where she spent 4 years building up the indirect property investment platform. From 2017 to autumn 2020, she was part of the international investment team of the real estate subsidiary of ATP Pension, Denmark's statutory pension provider, responsible for both indirect and direct real estate investments abroad. After working as a senior consultant for regulatory issues in the area of alternative investments (real estate, infrastructure, private equity and illiquid credit) for insurers and pension funds at the Danish Financial Supervisory Authority, Ms Eckert is now head of the Real Estate division at PBU Pension.

Matthias Huesmann is responsible for property investments at Ärzteversorgung Westfalen-Lippe. He is a qualified banker and a graduate of ISM Dortmund and the LSE in London. He gained experience at international banks and fund managers before working as a consultant at PwC for several years. He then worked at Provinzial Asset Management for eleven years, most recently as a member of the extended management team.

Rainer Komenda is Head of the Real Estate Investment Management department at BVK. He joined BVK in 2003, where he was initially responsible for transactions in Germany. Since 2013, he has also been responsible for global property investments. Before joining BVK, he worked for various property companies in the areas of project development, transactions, project management and commercial management. He has more than 30 years of property expertise and holds a degree in business administration from LMU Munich.

Marcel Konzek has been working in Treasury at Bank für Kirche und Caritas eG since 2017. Prior to this, he trained as a bank clerk from 2014 to 2017 and then continued his education on a part-time basis. He graduated as a banking specialist, banking business economist and Bachelor of Arts. Since 2017, Mr Konzek has been responsible for investments in real assets, including real estate funds and renewable energy investments, in the bank's Treasury department. His work focuses on the strategic and operational management of the investments made. He also oversees the new investment process and strategy development within these asset classes.

Joachim Kumme studied business administration at Aachen University of Applied Sciences, specialising in finance. He then started as a trainee at Kreissparkasse Ludwigsburg and built up proprietary trading in Depot A at Kreissparkasse Ludwigsburg at the beginning of the 1990s. Since 1998, Kumme has been responsible for the entire proprietary investment/custody account A area and the associated asset allocation at Kreissparkasse Ludwigsburg.

After studying law in Hamburg and completing her legal clerkship in Lower Saxony, Aygül Özkan held various management positions at Deutsche Telekom AG, TNT Deutschland and Deutsche Bank AG from 1998 to 2020. In addition, Aygül Özkan was a member of the Hamburg Parliament from 2008 to 2010 and Minister for Social Affairs, Women, Family, Health, Construction and Integration in Lower Saxony from 2010 to 2013. She has been Managing Director of the ZIA and ZIA Service GmbH since September 2020. She was elected to the Young Elite - 40 under 40 in 2010 and named a Young Global Leader by the World Economic Forum in Davos in 2011. As Deputy Managing Director, Özkan is responsible for the following business areas at the ZIA: Financing and Investment Capital (incl. Sustainable Finance), Commercial Real Estate, Innovation and Digitalisation and sits on the ZIA's EXPO REAL Advisory Board.

Sascha Pinger has worked for the Versorgungswerk der Wirtschaftsprüfer und der vereidigten Buchprüfer im Lande Nordrhein-Westfalen (WPV) since 2009. As Managing Director, he is responsible for all of the WPV's asset investments, among other things. Before joining WPV, he worked as an account manager for various asset managers and looked after national and international institutional clients. Pinger is a qualified insurance salesman and graduated with a degree in business administration from the FH Aachen and the University of Applied Sciences in Prague. He also completed the DVFA/IREBS postgraduate programmes for investment professionals as CIIA/CEFA, CREA and CRERM while working.

Jan Schlüter took over responsibility for all property-related topics of the Provinzial Group as Managing Director of ProAM in April 2023. From 2014 to 2023, he was responsible for the property portfolio of Nordrheinische Ärzteversorgung and was most recently also responsible for the infrastructure asset class. He rounded off his business administration studies with further training as a property economist (IRE│BS) and MBA Real Estate (IRE│BS).

After completing his studies with a focus on real estate management, Mr Winkenwerder's professional career took him via W&W, MEAG and VKB to SparkassenVersicherung in Stuttgart, where he has been responsible for the real estate asset class as Head of Real Estate since 2022. While working, Mr Winkenwerder successfully completed a postgraduate programme at EBS in Oestrich Winkle and further training to become a CAIA. In the course of his professional activities, Mr Winkenwerder gained extensive experience in asset and transaction management as well as in the launch/management of real estate funds and investments (also in an international and global context).
